It has been way too long since I posted my Stitch Fix box goodies. Honestly, I still fluctuate between thinking it's a great thing and being frustrated with what I got. This was a good box and I liked everything well enough I could have kept it. So, right now I think it's great! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hRh7FBstgLs/WF7kel5DikI/AAAAAAAAN9k/rNSMZ-QyOmoA7L9kvieECPufjAQUHfWGwCLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_263d.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hRh7FBstgLs/WF7kel5DikI/AAAAAAAAN9k/rNSMZ-QyOmoA7L9kvieECPufjAQUHfWGwCLcB/s640/fullsizeoutput_263d.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The first thing out of the box was this adorable navy blazer. It is the 41Hawthorn Corinth Wool Elbow Patch Blazer. I love the knit fabric, making it great for every day and the elbow patches. The blazer is navy and the patches and welt pockets are heathered charcoal gray. I really love it! It does have shoulder pads, but they are small and sewn in between the lining and outer fabric so they won't get all bunched up and ruined. I kept the jacket and can come up with so many outfits to wear with it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pNmO_KX8lRQ/WF7kdiaYDqI/AAAAAAAAN9U/st4iJw6hpr0jK9apfKl599Bb1JqeNYjEwCLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_2638.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pNmO_KX8lRQ/WF7kdiaYDqI/AAAAAAAAN9U/st4iJw6hpr0jK9apfKl599Bb1JqeNYjEwCLcB/s640/fullsizeoutput_2638.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nSCcUWdMKy0/WF7kes6kCHI/AAAAAAAAN9g/ZqwA9oK-nsMfrCIWaHM_DYJ0FJAq5pKlQCLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_263f.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nSCcUWdMKy0/WF7kes6kCHI/AAAAAAAAN9g/ZqwA9oK-nsMfrCIWaHM_DYJ0FJAq5pKlQCLcB/s640/fullsizeoutput_263f.jpeg" width="336" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;"> The next thing out were these jeans. They are the Citizen of Humanity Aniston Boyfriend Jeans. I do love them but they were super pricy. It wasn't in the cards to buy another pair of jeans (that I don't really need). But they did fit well and I am a total sucker for button fly. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PGDqXAttEUg/WF7keo5jvNI/AAAAAAAAN9c/KbcFtZvUoCknYazQ-RcYIL8ATko8qvTNACLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_263a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PGDqXAttEUg/WF7keo5jvNI/AAAAAAAAN9c/KbcFtZvUoCknYazQ-RcYIL8ATko8qvTNACLcB/s400/fullsizeoutput_263a.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jwG_O8Sm2Mo/WF7kfIHw4UI/AAAAAAAAN9o/9dSiBknXQq0-Kx4mq9roFpfh8dEgpS6uwCLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_2640.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-jwG_O8Sm2Mo/WF7kfIHw4UI/AAAAAAAAN9o/9dSiBknXQq0-Kx4mq9roFpfh8dEgpS6uwCLcB/s640/fullsizeoutput_2640.jpeg" width="316" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKSI9wl4oeY/WF7kffrrMWI/AAAAAAAAN9w/bF15HipJvsIsXc6MbCziQT-OyeDxJonwQCLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_2641.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ZKSI9wl4oeY/WF7kffrrMWI/AAAAAAAAN9w/bF15HipJvsIsXc6MbCziQT-OyeDxJonwQCLcB/s640/fullsizeoutput_2641.jpeg" width="296" /></a></div>
I am a total sucker for little details and this sweater did not disappoint. It is the RD Style Tonie Lace Inset Pullover. I love the asymmetrical hem of the sweater with the lace peeking through and the size zip detail.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d_T4dyWG878/WF7kfc9SsJI/AAAAAAAAN9s/7l33apK_k6wRsIC3EUnQe1tcS3ksADwUgCLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_2648.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d_T4dyWG878/WF7kfc9SsJI/AAAAAAAAN9s/7l33apK_k6wRsIC3EUnQe1tcS3ksADwUgCLcB/s640/fullsizeoutput_2648.jpeg" width="424" /></a></div>
I would have kept this one but the little pucker right where the zipper connected to the sweater and fabric bothered me. I doubt anyone would have noticed, but I'm at the point in my life where I want to love everything I buy and not feel uncomfortable about any part of it. I guess I'm picky.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y2GoWd1xABw/WF7kfg2uevI/AAAAAAAAN90/AMZZ_PtA-HAnxPuBgFcqr64iOINMGSIswCLcB/s1600/fullsizeoutput_2655.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y2GoWd1xABw/WF7kfg2uevI/AAAAAAAAN90/AMZZ_PtA-HAnxPuBgFcqr64iOINMGSIswCLcB/s640/fullsizeoutput_2655.jpeg" width="286" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And a few more ways I can wear the blazer. I do really love this thing! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2jaLFz2xKoA/WF7kbt9Kt3I/AAAAAAAAN84/hS31MEPE5MgsINihHPGBQ9DSNstEmeRFACLcB/s1600/IMG_6272.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2jaLFz2xKoA/WF7kbt9Kt3I/AAAAAAAAN84/hS31MEPE5MgsINihHPGBQ9DSNstEmeRFACLcB/s640/IMG_6272.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>

This TK Fairbanks Tie Neck Top has the cutest details but is so hard to take good pictures of. It has a variegated yellow and green neck tie with tassels! I love tassels! I didn't love the fabric the shirt was made of. It kind of always looks wrinkled which bothered me. But I love the style! It is so fun!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tDFoqOeZQks/WF7kcG_FCGI/AAAAAAAAN88/90C6oJFyLIsaXlJC8QdGDK8pemVU-r6rwCLcB/s1600/IMG_6284.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tDFoqOeZQks/WF7kcG_FCGI/AAAAAAAAN88/90C6oJFyLIsaXlJC8QdGDK8pemVU-r6rwCLcB/s640/IMG_6284.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The last thing out of the box was this RD Style Angus Split Back Mixed Material Sweater. It was really fun! The front looked like a regular sweater but it had black elbow patches and a slit in the back. Three buttons held the sweater closed and below the button was sheer fabric connecting the two sides of the sweater. Again, a cute design but I don' need another black sweater. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All in all, this was a great box. My usual stylist Jaclyn was not available but I think the new stylist did a good job. </div>

I feel kind of funny posting these pictures because I didn't actually keep track of what Stitch Fix sent in this box. So, here's some pants that I loved but didn't keep. Why you ask? Because of the bum picture below. Not my fave.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EX2Db6wYDhs/VbQ1yyXnScI/AAAAAAAANe4/fZMlRFA5c1E/s1600/IMG_0029.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EX2Db6wYDhs/VbQ1yyXnScI/AAAAAAAANe4/fZMlRFA5c1E/s640/IMG_0029.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5GAApZTXmYk/VbQ1yUtU09I/AAAAAAAANew/QrC067Gdt4g/s1600/IMG_0030.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5GAApZTXmYk/VbQ1yUtU09I/AAAAAAAANew/QrC067Gdt4g/s640/IMG_0030.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There it is, the bum picture. I should do more squats. Or work out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wRoAZtsZPu8/VbQ1y-rERiI/AAAAAAAANe8/ItRr7fIOvBE/s1600/IMG_0031.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wRoAZtsZPu8/VbQ1y-rERiI/AAAAAAAANe8/ItRr7fIOvBE/s640/IMG_0031.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
But they did look good at every other angle. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AvYh7QRA6p8/VbQ1z1u7uvI/AAAAAAAANfU/__A4grOKE_0/s1600/IMG_0051.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AvYh7QRA6p8/VbQ1z1u7uvI/AAAAAAAANfU/__A4grOKE_0/s640/IMG_0051.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This necklace. Ah, I call it the gold medal necklace. It really looks just like I won an olympic gold medal. I didn't. See note about squats above. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w21ZNUMe2bM/VbQ11gOZ6LI/AAAAAAAANgM/UFLXVxb_NKk/s1600/IMG_0061.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w21ZNUMe2bM/VbQ11gOZ6LI/AAAAAAAANgM/UFLXVxb_NKk/s640/IMG_0061.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
But you know what's funny, I kept that gold medal necklace. Who doesn't want to feel like a winner?acandiedapplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00764905744942176491noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3851983178084837953.post-36242186461836926662016-11-30T18:05:00.000-05:002016-11-30T18:28:10.155-05:00Bathroom Remodel<div style="text-align: justify;">
This last spring we had a bathroom moisture issue. Every time it rained hard I noticed pooling under the shower stall in the bathroom. It wasn't ever enough water that I thought it would flood the basement but it was concerning enough that I called a company to have it looked at. </div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xqEPjiUtdyk/WD9WNBP10WI/AAAAAAAAN6o/mzkhKKU_-zg_VSGdAyZd-Ejw83KLEiF4ACLcB/s1600/IMG_3346.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xqEPjiUtdyk/WD9WNBP10WI/AAAAAAAAN6o/mzkhKKU_-zg_VSGdAyZd-Ejw83KLEiF4ACLcB/s640/IMG_3346.JPG" width="480" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">This is our bathroom before the remodel. It was fine.<br />
It was also nothing special. </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Unfortunately in order to fully assess the problem they had to remove the shower from the bathroom. It was just a fiberglass shower stall and not a huge loss. Thankfully they were able to figure out the problem and install a drain and sump pump to prevent any future issues. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, that left us without a shower in our second of two bathrooms. Having a shower was a necessity. We considered (very briefly) putting in a new shower stall but the space where the old one sat blocked a window. I didn't love that we weren't utilizing as much light as possible. We called <a href="http://www.casedesign.com/" target="_blank">CASE Design</a> to explore our options. They drew up some amazing plans! We decided to expand the shower area to a full 5 feet. We could have put in a tub if we wanted but we decided a gorgeous shower would be better fitting for the space. </div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The shower stall was fine but behind that shower was a window.<br />
And the more light I can get, the better. </td></tr>

<div>
The process was as seamless as I can imagine. Through<a href="http://www.casedesign.com/case_study/pop-of-color/" target="_blank"> CASE </a>you sign a fixed price contract. That means you agree to the price before they start work and if there are any surprise costs, that is their problem, not mine. I know you pay a premium for this but it is so nice to know there won't be any extra costs involved. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The timeline we were given was 4 weeks. It ended up taking 6 weeks because they had some last minute ordering issues for the mirror and a few other finishing touches. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It was fabulous working with them. Their work is impeccable. If I didn't love something, I told them and they would fix it without any question. I LOVE the bathroom. Here's the finished product! </div>

I am an avid maker and always have been. One of my favorite activities is sewing. I love the feel of the fabric, the rush of finding just the right pattern and the ability to sit down and create something that just hours before was only in my head or sketchbook. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although I have always been a maker I haven't always had a lot of space to store supplies. I don't have an office of my own. I don't have a room devoted to just my sewing, nor have I ever had one. Not having a large space to create h<span style="font-family: inherit;">as forced me to get creative with my storage. In a lot of ways having a small area has been helpful. I don't buy too much more than I can use in a short amount of time. I find myself more creative this way. <span style="text-align: start;">If this isn't your strong point,</span><span style="text-align: start;"> </span><span style="text-align: start;"><a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?hl=en&q=https://makespace.com/locations/&source=gmail&ust=1475789990040000&usg=AFQjCNGa0FHw2AaxuESXuhEYwMAlfyas0w" href="https://makespace.com/locations/" target="_blank">MakeSpace has a variety of self storage locations</a> that can haul away anything you won't need for a </span><span style="text-align: start;">while (this month, this season or this year), store it for any amount of </span><span style="text-align: start;">time and bring it back whenever you are ready for it</span>. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Storage is huge when you have spent a lifeti</span>me creating. I would like to share some tips with you on how to make the most of your space. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Group items together. Store your buttons all together. Keep fabrics sorted by color and or texture. Everything is more visually appealing when stored by color. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8U8enxE6rtk/V-8D-Ey2Z-I/AAAAAAAAN1k/g3-EjRDwrf8bhrNxF9r-Zyc9kQivUb4HACLcB/s1600/FullSizeRender.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8U8enxE6rtk/V-8D-Ey2Z-I/AAAAAAAAN1k/g3-EjRDwrf8bhrNxF9r-Zyc9kQivUb4HACLcB/s320/FullSizeRender.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Find an appropriate sized container for each group of items. Mason jars are perfect for ribbons, buttons, lace, elastic and other small notions. Shoe boxes covered with cute paper make great storage for fabric scraps, trims and patterns. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8Lwt4I51JtI/V-8EE4_hnoI/AAAAAAAAN1o/b1hZQ0LWruoULqiy9UffmDUHDyiXbl1ywCLcB/s1600/FullSizeRender-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8Lwt4I51JtI/V-8EE4_hnoI/AAAAAAAAN1o/b1hZQ0LWruoULqiy9UffmDUHDyiXbl1ywCLcB/s320/FullSizeRender-2.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Fold fabric so it is all the same width. This saves so much space and is much more visually appealing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Make your space pretty. It is a lot more fun to be in a space that is pretty. Although my space is in the unfinished part of the basement I have done everything I could to make it pretty. And I really want to be in this space. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q48QMC7ecVg/V-8EFK6EA9I/AAAAAAAAN18/Vs_ljIVA_YAENaEyxBVqz0JxzXZhMT_hwCEw/s1600/IMG_2780.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q48QMC7ecVg/V-8EFK6EA9I/AAAAAAAAN18/Vs_ljIVA_YAENaEyxBVqz0JxzXZhMT_hwCEw/s320/IMG_2780.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My sewing space also works as my gift wrapping station. I love wrapping presents. I would much rather present a gift that is gift wrapped than bag wrapped. I know it's personal preference but because of my preference I have a collection of gift wrap. I store it in a tall glass vase. It is the perfect multi-purpose container. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hK76FO_2JmA/V-8EFBpathI/AAAAAAAAN2A/lmX4yLC7OeA15DLwDwf69aAOlDSrAyRlQCEw/s1600/IMG_2772.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hK76FO_2JmA/V-8EFBpathI/AAAAAAAAN2A/lmX4yLC7OeA15DLwDwf69aAOlDSrAyRlQCEw/s320/IMG_2772.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sometimes you have to think outside the box. A container could have two purposes. In fact, frequently I think of the item I want stored and then start hunting different sections of a store looking for something that would be attractive and functional. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Although this isn't a storage tip it is a life tip that will help you stay on track and be more productive in your space. Create a mood board or an area where you can post your ideas. This helps keep your inspiration focused and your goals in mind. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-83mVM-0GGGk/V-8EEzd3zUI/AAAAAAAAN2A/-wAYoOQUut8fkSwA5Kd1T_xRxcghgJLsgCEw/s1600/FullSizeRender-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-83mVM-0GGGk/V-8EEzd3zUI/AAAAAAAAN2A/-wAYoOQUut8fkSwA5Kd1T_xRxcghgJLsgCEw/s320/FullSizeRender-3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div>
I use these cute pentagonal cork boards to store my inspiration. When I see something in a magazine, a catalog or with my phone I pin the picture up on the board. Most of the things I make are kids clothes, so my inspiration is usually for kids. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I hope you have found these tips helpful! Good luck in all your projects! </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
About 10 years ago I was given my grandma's gathering machine. It gathers the fabric to make it so you can smock. After the fabric is gathered you hand stitch to make smocking. Then you take out the thread holding the original gathers in place. I have used it more times than I can count and I keep coming back to it because it is so relaxing to do hand stitching. </div>

I feel like this is a craft that has somewhat disappeared. I also feel like it brings a very specific feel to a garment. </div>

This dress is the <a href="http://oliverands.com/oliver-and-s-patterns/OLV-OS036FT.html" target="_blank">Oliver + S Fairy Tale</a> pattern. I love this pattern because it is so versatile. You can use the petal sleeves, or leave it sleeveless. There are two collar options, or leave the collar off. The little bow around the waist is adorable and you can mix and match so many colors and fabrics! </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think smocking is ready for a modern comeback. The greatest thing is you don't have to have a pleating machine to smock. You can gather the fabric in different ways to achieve this look. Here's some more smocking that hopefully will help sell this idea! </div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AaHb2rMP_Ao/VcaaELbhuDI/AAAAAAAANhE/hev_9eiJeFw/s1600/IMG_0276.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AaHb2rMP_Ao/VcaaELbhuDI/AAAAAAAANhE/hev_9eiJeFw/s640/IMG_0276.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think it is definitely fair to say that the longer I don't live in rural eastern Oregon the more I like it when I go back. When I lived there I thought it was ugly, brown and boring. The ground is covered in sagebrush and it smells like onions and livestock. Small town living is slower, more gossip filled and dare I say judgy. I just made that word up. People feel so inclined to compare themselves to others for some reason. In a city I think people accept that we are all at different points in our lives, living life the best we can and don't really judge each other. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hdV6NIwP6WI/VcaaDyq-prI/AAAAAAAANhA/yLQQCGtIeKE/s1600/IMG_0282.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hdV6NIwP6WI/VcaaDyq-prI/AAAAAAAANhA/yLQQCGtIeKE/s640/IMG_0282.jpg" width="483" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But as I get older and take my kids back to visit our family I appreciate so much more what it does have. There are amazing sunsets, beautiful variations in color of the fields and some pretty awesome old buildings. My kids love seeing the farm animals. In fact when we go to the National Zoo here in DC the farm area is by far their favorite. It seems so silly to me since I grew up by so many farm animals. They certainly don't seem zoo worthy. But they are, especially since otherwise my kids really wouldn't get to see them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yK3wcaw21jE/VcaaDlWW7WI/AAAAAAAANg8/MKFJQ8ANXhE/s1600/IMG_0283.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yK3wcaw21jE/VcaaDlWW7WI/AAAAAAAANg8/MKFJQ8ANXhE/s640/IMG_0283.jpg" width="462" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also find the climate of rural eastern Oregon challenging but nice. It is dry and my body has adjusted pretty well to the humidity of DC. So I always have to slather on lotion and use extra conditioner in my hair. It affects my kids too. But the dry heat is so nice compared to humid heat. You don't sweat upon walking outside. You can find relief from the heat by finding some shade. And it cools off a lot at night. It has been really fun to share this difference with the kids. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GQFSP1igg0E/VcaaEVY86bI/AAAAAAAANhY/R8CmGE8DMu8/s1600/IMG_0285.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GQFSP1igg0E/VcaaEVY86bI/AAAAAAAANhY/R8CmGE8DMu8/s640/IMG_0285.jpg" width="580" /></a></div>
I don't have any intention of living in eastern Oregon again, but it is a great place to visit. My kids love it and my family is totally worth the travel time.<br />

We have been enjoying the most amazing summer. The weather is perfect, the pools are open and we are happy. I started out thinking I wanted to have a pretty structured schedule. That's just how I function best. But I have found that my kids love spontaneity and are much happier making spur of the moment decisions. Of course they love having something to look forward to but they don't love having every second of the day planned out. We are learning to work together to have the best summer ever. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RfMJFfIOAFM/VbQoQCzLCkI/AAAAAAAANeE/doQutzV0gjg/s1600/IMG_0109.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RfMJFfIOAFM/VbQoQCzLCkI/AAAAAAAANeE/doQutzV0gjg/s320/IMG_0109.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I can't believe how fast the summer has gone. Is it always this fast? Calder just finished kindergarten and it feels like our first real summer vacation. We of course had summer break from preschool but he went 4 half days a week. Not anything close to what elementary school is. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7x8LGg6ixTU/VbQoQDx6SUI/AAAAAAAANeA/4n-1Zv6qSK8/s1600/IMG_0129.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7x8LGg6ixTU/VbQoQDx6SUI/AAAAAAAANeA/4n-1Zv6qSK8/s320/IMG_0129.jpg" width="209" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My kids are best friends. They argue and fight at times but they have really figured out how to make each other happy and what to play together. I love that Calder has to stretch his imagination to make the spy games he loves to play stretch to Colette's interest of babies and dolls. It has been so fun to see him mature and develop lately. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HlApJuaHiZY/VbQoQeVqX-I/AAAAAAAANeM/A0IdNf0lZKU/s1600/IMG_9746.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HlApJuaHiZY/VbQoQeVqX-I/AAAAAAAANeM/A0IdNf0lZKU/s320/IMG_9746.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ItdT2n96hVw/VbQoRfKHDiI/AAAAAAAANec/uFFz_ZeAnHY/s1600/IMG_9781.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ItdT2n96hVw/VbQoRfKHDiI/AAAAAAAANec/uFFz_ZeAnHY/s320/IMG_9781.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Summer really should be unstructured. My kids have taught me that. They need time to get bored and use their imaginations. They need to be able to resolve their own conflicts sometimes. They need me to be there and help them through conflicts sometimes. It has been a beautiful summer and I can't wait to see what the last month of it brings. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
What is it about going to the salon? I think I could go there just for a shampoo and I would feel amazing. I went a few weeks ago to get some highlights and to go lighter overall. Experimenting with hair color is not something I have really done much, so I always feel a little unsure of whether it will look good. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really love the way my stylist listens. She is incredibly talented. It has been fun to play with my new color. I can see how it can be addicting to change your hair color! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OVPPIHVZBZM/VXB3Nnp-T2I/AAAAAAAANas/a3jZ8zVpxkI/s1600/IMG_9398.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OVPPIHVZBZM/VXB3Nnp-T2I/AAAAAAAANas/a3jZ8zVpxkI/s320/IMG_9398.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
If you live in the DC area and need a salon I highly recommend <a href="http://www.alchemyhairsalon.com/">Alchemy Salon</a>. It is on Colesville Road next to Trader Joes, so you can always grab groceries when you're done. Total win!acandiedapplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00764905744942176491noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3851983178084837953.post-8727288589706282912015-06-04T11:59:00.000-04:002015-06-04T11:59:14.442-04:00Stitch Fix #8<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;"> Hello! I just got my 8th Fix from Stitch Fix and thought I would give you a little peek. This time I asked for some fun bright colors. It seems like I kept getting a lot of dark or neutral colors and I wanted something more fun! This fix was definitely fun. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ke71SGuknpA/VXByf9VMIjI/AAAAAAAANZk/bTnY-miEaWU/s1600/IMG_9522.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Ke71SGuknpA/VXByf9VMIjI/AAAAAAAANZk/bTnY-miEaWU/s320/IMG_9522.jpg" width="193" /></a></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;"> The first thing I pulled out of the box was this Olive & Oak Arynn Tie-Back Chevron Print tank top for $48.00. I don't really wear tank tops a lot but I thought I would give it a try. It is unlined and therefore you have to wear something under it. I honestly don't love the fit or the colors, but it was what I asked for as far as fun and colorful. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FYDijM-u8FI/VXByfwCnPUI/AAAAAAAANZs/e1PIR8Cxbwo/s1600/IMG_9537.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-FYDijM-u8FI/VXByfwCnPUI/AAAAAAAANZs/e1PIR8Cxbwo/s320/IMG_9537.jpg" width="175" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These shorts were just screaming to go with the tank. They are Kut From The Kloth Elliot Cargo Pocket Shorts for $58.00. They are a fabulous color and they fit well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QYznd5mfa90/VXByfyZf1gI/AAAAAAAANZo/lIpWscVeQnw/s1600/IMG_9589.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QYznd5mfa90/VXByfyZf1gI/AAAAAAAANZo/lIpWscVeQnw/s320/IMG_9589.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The next thing out of the box was this Market & Spruce Char Ikat Print Maxi Skirt for $58.00. This is a fabulous piece that can go from summer to fall. It is really thin knit fabric so it shouldn't be too hot in the summer. It is super stretchy so I can chase kids everywhere without feeling like my clothes are holding me back. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5z-zA7PcbGo/VXBygRqwutI/AAAAAAAANaA/FG3e1LBSJNg/s1600/IMG_9600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5z-zA7PcbGo/VXBygRqwutI/AAAAAAAANaA/FG3e1LBSJNg/s320/IMG_9600.jpg" width="251" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pEgs66Qp_gA/VXByggD_hMI/AAAAAAAANZw/ck9sPVGSi84/s1600/IMG_9629.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pEgs66Qp_gA/VXByggD_hMI/AAAAAAAANZw/ck9sPVGSi84/s320/IMG_9629.jpg" width="158" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Yp1bAWn9ctk/VXByrYyaY6I/AAAAAAAANaM/9ymkc2QLFfs/s1600/IMG_9452.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Yp1bAWn9ctk/VXByrYyaY6I/AAAAAAAANaM/9ymkc2QLFfs/s320/IMG_9452.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These earrings are a perfect match for the skirt. They are the Bay to Baubles Libby Lace Border Earrings for $28.00. They are really cute and a great size but they are also a little heavy. I tend to keep to lighter weight earrings. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZx5nKfgdiw/VXB0Ojy_KVI/AAAAAAAANaY/V9HYlHmtL44/s1600/IMG_9433.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GZx5nKfgdiw/VXB0Ojy_KVI/AAAAAAAANaY/V9HYlHmtL44/s320/IMG_9433.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And the last thing was this Gilli Nikky Striped Faux Wrap Jersey Dress for $58.00. I LOVE this dress. I didn't take a picture of it without the jacket but it has cute little sleeves. I love that it is so slimming and comfortable. It is the perfect every day summer dress. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I ended up just keeping the dress. I was really tempted by the maxi skirt but for the price I would want something a little thicker that I know will last a long time. This was such a fun fix. I'm glad I asked for the brighter colors. </div>

My sweet and empathetic son has a good friend in his school class who has Strep throat. He felt so bad for her and suggested we buy her some flowers. "Because girls like flowers." It was really sweet so we went to Trader Joe's and bought the perfect bouquet of purple flowers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JD9r2FTNCN4/VRBc0856kpI/AAAAAAAAI1o/g1Nli0htKRU/s1600/IMG_7493.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JD9r2FTNCN4/VRBc0856kpI/AAAAAAAAI1o/g1Nli0htKRU/s1600/IMG_7493.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
His friend was thrilled and put them in a vase before walking out the door to run an errand with her family. When they got back they discovered the cat had eaten one of the lilies. Apparently cats can have kidney failure from eating lilies. So, they called the pet emergency hotline (it's a thing!) and after exchanging pictures of the flower were told they should take it to the animal hospital for testing and monitoring. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The sweet cat has been there for days and thankfully is doing well and hasn't had any signs of kidney failure but he has to stay for a few more days, just to be sure. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I can not imagine how expensive this is. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I feel terrible. Who would have thought? </div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5t1ob7yo50c/VPr-sBFek5I/AAAAAAAAHQU/7lXeskCK2LE/s1600/IMG_8084.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5t1ob7yo50c/VPr-sBFek5I/AAAAAAAAHQU/7lXeskCK2LE/s1600/IMG_8084.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I have always been hesitant to join a CSA because my family is a little picky. So I was worried the produce would go to waste because nobody would eat it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fQQZydd0XLQ/VPr-r-w8gyI/AAAAAAAAHQA/01JnwO_G294/s1600/IMG_8085.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fQQZydd0XLQ/VPr-r-w8gyI/AAAAAAAAHQA/01JnwO_G294/s1600/IMG_8085.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A few weeks ago I heard about <a href="http://fromthefarmerdc.com/">From The Farmer</a>. A local produce delivery system that lets you customize your delivery every week. So if it looks like there will be grapefruit coming and your family loves grapefruit you can ask for more. And if your family won't eat beets, you can ask not to get them. It is the totally customizable produce delivery system. I love it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8lnKW6MuZ-0/VPr-sKzaIOI/AAAAAAAAHQE/a8dwGB6XK_Y/s1600/IMG_8087.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8lnKW6MuZ-0/VPr-sKzaIOI/AAAAAAAAHQE/a8dwGB6XK_Y/s1600/IMG_8087.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The variety is fun and they deliver right to your front door. They deliver every Friday first thing in the morning, so my kids wake up and check the front porch for a box of produce. Anything that makes my kids excited to eat fruits and vegetables is a total win! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tmqNk7e3nzA/VPr-swaSL4I/AAAAAAAAHQY/YnaKu4ZGFE0/s1600/IMG_8093.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tmqNk7e3nzA/VPr-swaSL4I/AAAAAAAAHQY/YnaKu4ZGFE0/s1600/IMG_8093.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This last week we even got organic, only fruit strawberry jam and apple cider. The carrots were so many fun colors and my kids both gobbled them up and called them "fancy carrots". From The Farmer also does bread and eggs. I haven't tried those yet, but I'm sure they're good!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kdMrCooZR6A/VPr-tK44UbI/AAAAAAAAHQg/Utdbz-AZrDw/s1600/IMG_8095.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kdMrCooZR6A/VPr-tK44UbI/AAAAAAAAHQg/Utdbz-AZrDw/s1600/IMG_8095.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The other great thing about <a href="http://fromthefarmerdc.com/">From The Farmer</a> is that if you go out of town or didn't finish the produce from last week you can just suspend your delivery. It's as easy as that! So if you're in the DC area, you should totally give it a try! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">*From The Farmer does not in any way sponsor this blog. I just love their service and therefore want to spread the word. </span></div>

<span style="text-align: start;"> I know I said I may be done ordering from <a href="https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3889563">Stitch Fix</a> but lets be honest. They're good and when you get a credit (Thanks Michelle!) you use it. So, I have a few pairs of denim that sort of fell apart this last few weeks, so I knew that would be a good thing to request in my fix. I have also heard that Stitch Fix is REALLY good at denim. So, I thought why not? </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VpFuoqE6Qvo/VPpfoAVZAsI/AAAAAAAAHOI/CLSz2rLmlfc/s1600/IMG_8042.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VpFuoqE6Qvo/VPpfoAVZAsI/AAAAAAAAHOI/CLSz2rLmlfc/s1600/IMG_8042.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first thing out of the box was this pretty green top. It is 41Hawthorn's Angela Quilted Detailed Blouse and they cal it Teal Green but it seems a little more spearmint to me. For $68 it is a little pricier than I would normally pay but both Jason and Calder loved it, so I kept it. It has tulip sleeves which I love and the pleating detail in the front is fun. You can't see it well but the shoulders and back yoke have quilted details. It's a fun top. I kept it. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The black jeans are Kut From The Kloth Denna Skinny Jeans for $78.00. I liked these well enough. They fit well and were super comfortable. Unfortunately they were a little long and normally I wouldn't mind hemming them but I just wasn't feeling it this time. I do want some black jeans, so I may try again next time but ask for something ankle length. Returned. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vc220sMxlVI/VPpfo8XVftI/AAAAAAAAHOY/sQsbeY5AtSQ/s1600/IMG_8044.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Vc220sMxlVI/VPpfo8XVftI/AAAAAAAAHOY/sQsbeY5AtSQ/s1600/IMG_8044.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The next thing out of the box was this Pixley Meryl Tulip Print Sleeveless Blouse for $54.00. I love the print and it was so so soft but the armholes were huge, so it made it look funny if I tried wearing it alone or with something under it. The other issue I have with this top is that it has a center seam down the front. I know this doesn't bother most people but I hate that the pattern doesn't add up. Returned. As I look at these pictures though, I'm thinking that is a really cute outfit. I should look for a fun print blouse like this (without a center seam). </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-S_uDIHRmhxA/VPpfpdTBxDI/AAAAAAAAHPM/KQ-t0-Qoh4I/s1600/IMG_8047.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-S_uDIHRmhxA/VPpfpdTBxDI/AAAAAAAAHPM/KQ-t0-Qoh4I/s1600/IMG_8047.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This necklace was the next thing out. I was hopeful and loved the colors but the chain looks like antique brass, which just doesn't look awesome. If it had been gold or silver colored, it would have been great. This was the Romolo Zena Crystal Palm Collar Necklace. It was fun and interesting, just not perfect. And it cost $38.00 so if I'm going to spend that much on an necklace I want it to be something I love. Returned. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yS9HIqJJKi4/VPpfpgr9ugI/AAAAAAAAHOw/DxyFEZxxZLU/s1600/IMG_8049.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-yS9HIqJJKi4/VPpfpgr9ugI/AAAAAAAAHOw/DxyFEZxxZLU/s1600/IMG_8049.jpg" height="320" width="111" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The last thing out of the box was these Dear John Marson Wide Leg Denim Trousers for $78.00. These are amazing jeans. They make my legs look a million miles long and they still have butt pockets, which is a requirement for me. The front pockets are nice and deep and I love the dark wash. I kept these and love them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_jWFrUXzrBg/VPpfqvvVBVI/AAAAAAAAHPQ/IumCuRne5Cg/s1600/IMG_8053.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_jWFrUXzrBg/VPpfqvvVBVI/AAAAAAAAHPQ/IumCuRne5Cg/s1600/IMG_8053.jpg" height="320" width="152" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, to recap, I kept two things and returned three. That's a pretty good fix. I liked everything I was sent and could have been talked in to keeping all 5 so I feel like this is a really good fix. Thanks Katherine for styling this one!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dF0LiNVDgIk/VPpfq-ZBrCI/AAAAAAAAHPU/nOt1_yfFlDE/s1600/IMG_8055.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dF0LiNVDgIk/VPpfq-ZBrCI/AAAAAAAAHPU/nOt1_yfFlDE/s1600/IMG_8055.jpg" height="320" width="182" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you're interested in trying Stitch Fix follow<a href="https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3889563"> this link</a> (I get a credit if I refer you). It is easy and fun and you're not committed to buying anything or having a monthly shipment. You just let them know how often you want it or you can just request one when you want it. Some people just use it when they have a special event coming up or when they need something specific. I think it is really fun!</div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j-h-D0quWL0/VMRPIaW6MqI/AAAAAAAAFRI/VxgWWb0Py7s/s1600/winter%2B%231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-j-h-D0quWL0/VMRPIaW6MqI/AAAAAAAAFRI/VxgWWb0Py7s/s1600/winter%2B%231.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been fairly silent the last few months. Not because we haven't been doing anything noteworthy. Quite the opposite actually. We have been living it up and enjoying as much family time as we can. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-czpKXbBW5qE/VMRPIz0rGEI/AAAAAAAAFRU/dbGRnJU-dGU/s1600/winter%2B%232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-czpKXbBW5qE/VMRPIz0rGEI/AAAAAAAAFRU/dbGRnJU-dGU/s1600/winter%2B%232.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="text-align: justify;">I have been thinking about winter, especially DC winters and I have come to a solid conclusion. I love them. They are just about as perfect as a winter can be. We get snow sometimes. We get rain and gloom sometimes. We also get random 50 degree sunny days sometimes. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IewcJJuz0fw/VMRPIxWxVPI/AAAAAAAAFRc/sz2DeeFfzQo/s1600/winter%2B%233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IewcJJuz0fw/VMRPIxWxVPI/AAAAAAAAFRc/sz2DeeFfzQo/s1600/winter%2B%233.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
I love having four true seasons. When I was growing up in eastern Oregon we had two seasons with a very short week of fall and spring sandwiched between.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5_KjKL5royw/VMRPHoT4yYI/AAAAAAAAFQ4/G_u6EK2qNb4/s1600/Winter%2B%234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5_KjKL5royw/VMRPHoT4yYI/AAAAAAAAFQ4/G_u6EK2qNb4/s1600/Winter%2B%234.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
Then we moved to Chicago and got two solid but quite extreme seasons. That winter is the reason we don't live there now. Chicago winters are not something to joke around about. Those are some serious winters.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8SM0jn2_ds4/VMRPHk2DW3I/AAAAAAAAFQ8/Ack8EdnE8fI/s1600/Winter%2B%235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8SM0jn2_ds4/VMRPHk2DW3I/AAAAAAAAFQ8/Ack8EdnE8fI/s1600/Winter%2B%235.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
I do dream of winters in San Diego every February as I get tired of winter, but then spring arrives the flowers start poking up and I fall in love with DC all over again.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oaHJwfcSQJQ/VMRPIOlRpNI/AAAAAAAAFRA/8KCYXztfnVM/s1600/Winter%2B%236.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oaHJwfcSQJQ/VMRPIOlRpNI/AAAAAAAAFRA/8KCYXztfnVM/s1600/Winter%2B%236.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
The weather isn't the reason we moved here, but it is certainly one of the things keeping us here.acandiedapplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00764905744942176491noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3851983178084837953.post-79204825193096802182015-01-24T20:19:00.001-05:002015-01-24T20:19:40.077-05:00Front Door Fashion<div style="text-align: justify;">
In my <a href="http://acandiedapple.blogspot.com/2014/11/stitch-fix-5-possibly-my-last.html">last Stitch Fix post</a> I mentioned I wasn't as impressed as I had hoped to be. I liked the design of the company and I liked the way the fixes came but a lot of the clothes underwhelmed me. So, I decided to try a similar company called <a href="https://www.frontdoorfashion.com/">Front Door Fashion</a>. I was so excited because they actually send you 4-6 OUTFITS to try. That is a lot of clothes. I like that they send more than 5 pieces and that they still only have a $20 styling fee, which is applied to anything you keep. The stylist communicates a lot more than Stitch Fix stylists, which is nice for someone like me who loves clothes and loves talking about clothes. I imagine if it wasn't really your thing and you just want someone to choose things that work well for you, that could be a little annoying, but for the most part I see it as a plus. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's what my box looked like.
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-m_lfVCmPpAI/VMQ9dsKtOJI/AAAAAAAAFPM/9cG_1E_1taI/s1600/FDF.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-m_lfVCmPpAI/VMQ9dsKtOJI/AAAAAAAAFPM/9cG_1E_1taI/s320/FDF.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And, here's what it looked like on the inside. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0ulaHQyTry4/VMQ-Abi0dUI/AAAAAAAAFPU/-3gPSVEyxF4/s1600/FDF%2B%238.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-0ulaHQyTry4/VMQ-Abi0dUI/AAAAAAAAFPU/-3gPSVEyxF4/s1600/FDF%2B%238.jpg" height="320" width="275" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is really similar to a Stitch Fix box in packaging but much larger since they send you so many clothes. Everything is wrapped by outfit with a little note from the stylist. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aEJK4xG3RBY/VMQ-PlC4P7I/AAAAAAAAFP8/q4suywOHhA8/s1600/FDF%2B%232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-aEJK4xG3RBY/VMQ-PlC4P7I/AAAAAAAAFP8/q4suywOHhA8/s1600/FDF%2B%232.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I mentioned to the stylist I was curious about the dark floral trent. This dress totally hit the nail on the head, but it just wasn't the dress for me. It fit well and seemed fun, for someone else.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fO0QaA642U0/VMQ-OcRRwCI/AAAAAAAAFPk/jnXmG7HM0nA/s1600/FDF%2B%233.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-fO0QaA642U0/VMQ-OcRRwCI/AAAAAAAAFPk/jnXmG7HM0nA/s1600/FDF%2B%233.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I really liked this outfit. For this one she did the same outfit with two different skirts. The shirt was a bit too bright for me and the scarf was underwhelming but I liked the jewelry.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xze_eqcs4vk/VMQ-N0vKOxI/AAAAAAAAFPc/qDP3lQTtDmU/s1600/FDF%2B%234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xze_eqcs4vk/VMQ-N0vKOxI/AAAAAAAAFPc/qDP3lQTtDmU/s1600/FDF%2B%234.jpg" height="320" width="288" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wcCmTX6cKDs/VMQ-OqMWGyI/AAAAAAAAFPo/fDsAWn7JU7I/s1600/FDF%2B%235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-wcCmTX6cKDs/VMQ-OqMWGyI/AAAAAAAAFPo/fDsAWn7JU7I/s1600/FDF%2B%235.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
This black and white skirt was the first thing I kept. I love the fit of a circle skirt and it has a really fun texture. I have paired it was many different colored tops and love it with everything.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ibrj3bfeInk/VMQ-PIywpjI/AAAAAAAAFP4/TCVFqlgwVzM/s1600/FDF%2B%236.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Ibrj3bfeInk/VMQ-PIywpjI/AAAAAAAAFP4/TCVFqlgwVzM/s1600/FDF%2B%236.jpg" height="320" width="281" /></a></div>
The above outfit is totally me. I love that polka dot top (I kept it) and the style of the jeans and breton top were very on point, but the breton was boxy and cropped, which I didn't love. The jeans were just a bit long and I didn't want to deal with hemming them, so back they went.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nFlx8FUKtHw/VMQ-PYPyqhI/AAAAAAAAFP0/QyB9QIrZtH0/s1600/FDF%2B%237.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nFlx8FUKtHw/VMQ-PYPyqhI/AAAAAAAAFP0/QyB9QIrZtH0/s1600/FDF%2B%237.jpg" height="320" width="286" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For this last outfit I kept the green shirt and the jean jacket. I've been looking for a jean jacket for a long time. I love the fit and color of this one. It came with the sleeves rolled up and I have kept them that way. This is the perfect jean jacket, in my opinion. The green shirt has some really fun details. The side seams and shoulder seams have a fun <a href="http://www.thefreedictionary.com/faggot+stitch">fagot stitch</a>. The back also has a heavy drape to the neck and a cute green ribbon across the shoulders to keep it in place. I really love the details of this top. These are the kinds of details that make me love clothes. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The necklace is awesome and I would have kept it but Jason hated it. I like to take his opinion in to consideration. Sometimes I feel more passionate about keeping something than he does about not liking it but this time he really didn't like it. And I still dream about it. Just kidding, kind of. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Those white jeans. Whoa were they awesome. They fit well and felt amazingly soft but they were made of some kind of lace and were dry clean only. Dry clean only white jeans and kids don't mix, so they got sent back too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I felt like the pricing was very fair on the clothes. It is similar to what I would find at Nordstrom or J. Crew. Here's the price sheet from my order. It might be hard to read, for some reason the print has faded a bit in the last few weeks. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AeQ97SEP0W8/VMRCOjCPuaI/AAAAAAAAFQU/c5BAFF72gcg/s1600/FDF%2BPrice%2BSheet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AeQ97SEP0W8/VMRCOjCPuaI/AAAAAAAAFQU/c5BAFF72gcg/s1600/FDF%2BPrice%2BSheet.jpg" height="320" width="283" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
After having the clothes a few days, I put everything I didn't want back in the box and sent it back. After a few days they ran my credit card for what they didn't get back in the box. This would have been great but one of the necklaces that I returned ended up being charged. So, I emailed them, letting them know I had sent it back. They said it wasn't in the box but would check again. After confirming they didn't receive it I still got charged for it. Here's the thing though, I KNOW I put it in the box. As I took the above pictures I did inventory and put things in the box immediately after taking the pictures. I know it was in there. So, it came down to my word against the person who unpacked the box. I don't know what happened but I'm not thrilled that I had to pay for a necklace I didn't keep. I really wish they would have worked harder to resolve this issue with me. I don't know exactly what happened on their end but it is disappointing that I had to pay for a mistake I'm sure was theirs. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Although I like the idea of this service, loved the clothes and the personal connection with the stylist, I'm hesitant to use them again. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GeOcEEFyp4U/VMREiM10_OI/AAAAAAAAFQg/hzB9KJ8L4sg/s1600/FDF%2B%231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GeOcEEFyp4U/VMREiM10_OI/AAAAAAAAFQg/hzB9KJ8L4sg/s1600/FDF%2B%231.jpg" height="320" width="127" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I've also learned that I like shopping. Part of the enjoyment of shopping for me is the hunt. I like to find that perfect something. So, I think my next shopping experiment is Nordstrom's personal stylist. They're free but they have a stronger store connection, and you get to meet them in person, which seems easier for them and me. I will do that in the next few months and check back in. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Calder has never been one to phone it in when it comes to his attire. He dresses up for church, eating lunch at dad's office and of course for kindergarten school pictures. I was pleasantly surprised that the photography company took school pictures outside and provided 14-20 different poses for parents to choose from. This is my favorite pose of Calder's set. I just can't get over how nice the pictures are. School pictures have definitely come a long way since I was a kid. </div>

Everything was boring and matronly and plain. The colors were dark and drab, the cuts were wrong and the style just didn't seem to be me at all.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bWuxmGhByEU/VHVCgs1yKWI/AAAAAAAAE_M/ijHsUoQ6lZg/s1600/IMG_6909.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bWuxmGhByEU/VHVCgs1yKWI/AAAAAAAAE_M/ijHsUoQ6lZg/s1600/IMG_6909.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first thing out of the box was this Gilli Abie 2Fer Polka Dot Print Faux Wrap dress for $68.00. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UGFPwXVNHvA/VHVCgouXVSI/AAAAAAAAE_I/2if_ZoXclrE/s1600/IMG_6910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UGFPwXVNHvA/VHVCgouXVSI/AAAAAAAAE_I/2if_ZoXclrE/s1600/IMG_6910.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And here is the 41Hawthorn Hobbes Striped Crew Neck Sweater for $58.00. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OGJ390cUun8/VHVCgtz84yI/AAAAAAAAE_E/PbBKjoeX3Zg/s1600/IMG_6911.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OGJ390cUun8/VHVCgtz84yI/AAAAAAAAE_E/PbBKjoeX3Zg/s1600/IMG_6911.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Up next is the 41Hawthorn Abrianna Longsleeve Knit Cardigan for $48.00.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vP8mbyFTao8/VHVChpD3CfI/AAAAAAAAE_c/V-b8JKJGkWg/s1600/IMG_6912.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-vP8mbyFTao8/VHVChpD3CfI/AAAAAAAAE_c/V-b8JKJGkWg/s1600/IMG_6912.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And the Margaret M Chrisiana Jacquard Print Pencil Skirt for $78.00. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3uZK_dQW-jE/VHVChwu9WoI/AAAAAAAAE_g/hV2L2R-_XgE/s1600/IMG_6915.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3uZK_dQW-jE/VHVChwu9WoI/AAAAAAAAE_g/hV2L2R-_XgE/s1600/IMG_6915.jpg" height="320" width="217" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The item I liked the most and the one I kept was this cardigan. I've wanted an open front cardigan like this for a while, so it fit the bill. The color is a nice jade green. So, I did keep this one. I don't know if I would have kept it if I liked something else better, but to save myself from losing the styling fee, I kept it and am excited to wear it, so that's a win. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GVQt_bkHeiQ/VHVCiOzQXxI/AAAAAAAAE_k/r8bI7mEKeNI/s1600/IMG_6923.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GVQt_bkHeiQ/VHVCiOzQXxI/AAAAAAAAE_k/r8bI7mEKeNI/s1600/IMG_6923.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
And next is the pencil skirt. It was fine. I do like the way it fits but I don't like the colors or print. Maybe jacquard isn't for me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--3Gx2RI5ICg/VHVCiz02KxI/AAAAAAAAE_0/S5eXANq3ke4/s1600/IMG_6927.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--3Gx2RI5ICg/VHVCiz02KxI/AAAAAAAAE_0/S5eXANq3ke4/s1600/IMG_6927.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-__eyq28j-kA/VHVCjaH4hqI/AAAAAAAAFAE/Ho2uf-ygtXw/s1600/IMG_6928.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-__eyq28j-kA/VHVCjaH4hqI/AAAAAAAAFAE/Ho2uf-ygtXw/s1600/IMG_6928.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Ah this dress. It is really not awesome. I like the top and feel like it fits well but it is just too short and pretty boring.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cwOPNrrTXzk/VHVCjR2YMgI/AAAAAAAAE_4/QJwczAhjWZU/s1600/IMG_6933.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-cwOPNrrTXzk/VHVCjR2YMgI/AAAAAAAAE_4/QJwczAhjWZU/s1600/IMG_6933.jpg" height="320" width="188" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Somehow I didn't take a picture of this dress on the hanger but this is the 41Hawthorn Faya Sleeveless Keyhole Fit & Flare Dress for $88. It was fine but too short. I would have been tempted to keep it if it was longer and a more interesting color. I feel like it is just boring. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_1FkViL7Vik/VHVCjtYixaI/AAAAAAAAE_8/tKyui1uvSj8/s1600/IMG_6934.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_1FkViL7Vik/VHVCjtYixaI/AAAAAAAAE_8/tKyui1uvSj8/s1600/IMG_6934.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The keyhole detail was fun though. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I feel like of the 5 fixes I got only one of them was amazing. Two others were good and the other two were terrible. I was hoping it really did get better with time. So, for now, I don't have any fixes scheduled and I'm considering trying Front Door Fashion. Does anyone have any experience with that? How you you all feeling about Stitch Fix? Should I give them another shot? I absolutely LOVE the idea of getting a surprise box of clothes at your door. It just hasn't worked out as well in practice as I had hoped. </div>

I frequently get asked why my kids and I match. Our outfits are often coordinated to the point that we look like we are getting our family pictures taken. I never plan it (unless we are getting family pictures taken) but somehow it just happens. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I buy all of the clothes for the kids so I choose things that I like. Calder does have veto power but thankfully he doesn't like shopping, so he doesn't complain too much.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, just the other day I kept thinking that Colette had the cutest outfit on. I realized midway through the afternoon that I have a very similar outfit. So, the next day I wore it. Yes, I took inspiration from my 2 year old's outfit but I love the way it turned out. Maybe I should do this more.</div>

I was contacted recently by <a href="https://www.chairish.com/">Chairish</a>, a cool <a href="https://www.chairish.com/">vintage furniture</a> website. I honestly hadn't heard about <a href="https://www.chairish.com/">Chairish</a> before our email exchange but after spending LOTS of time on the site I am thrilled to tell you about it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="https://www.chairish.com/">Chairish</a> is basically a place for you to buy and sell furniture and housewares. There are great vintage pieces, leftover designer deals and lots of fun things to look at. As I was looking at their site I was thinking how fun it would be to use some of these pieces in my master bedroom. I have a strong mid century modern preference that unfortunately Jason doesn't share. He is far more contemporary. So, as I was looking around, I thought I would basically design my dream bedroom. It looks a lot like this. <span id="goog_638444490"></span><span id="goog_638444491"></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GLSMBdA8KTs/VFWbKrgFy4I/AAAAAAAAE9o/FB1ieZJUSk4/s1600/Chairish.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GLSMBdA8KTs/VFWbKrgFy4I/AAAAAAAAE9o/FB1ieZJUSk4/s1600/Chairish.png" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
All of the above pieces are available on the <a href="https://www.chairish.com/">Chairish</a> website. It was so fun to do this little project. I especially love the clock which is unfortunately not available anymore. Here are links to the items that are still available that I've featured.<br />

I have dropped back to getting a fix every 6-7 weeks instead of monthly because I usually love so many things they send but choose just my very favorite so I don't spend too much each month. So, hopefully by spreading it out it will be easier to keep the things I love.<br />
<br />
That being said, I felt like this last fix was not as stellar as the one before. I think I gave too many requests instead of just letting my stylist choose items she thinks I will love. So, here's what I got in my fix.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tid72y6A9BY/VFEBPKpJueI/AAAAAAAAE7Y/5W4R_gut8Fc/s1600/IMG_6669.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tid72y6A9BY/VFEBPKpJueI/AAAAAAAAE7Y/5W4R_gut8Fc/s1600/IMG_6669.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is the Akio Asymmetrical Zip Faux Leather Jacket. I absolutely love it. It is hard to tell in this picture but it is actually gray. It has quilted details on the arms and is so so comfortable. It's nice you can move around comfortably but still feel warm and cozy. I totally kept this one!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1b6lmdXy6no/VFEBX_0zXmI/AAAAAAAAE7o/17offN6AEjw/s1600/IMG_6670.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1b6lmdXy6no/VFEBX_0zXmI/AAAAAAAAE7o/17offN6AEjw/s1600/IMG_6670.jpg" height="320" width="177" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, next up is this sweater. I specifically asked for elbow patches. I do love the elbow patches but not much else about this one. I don't love the color, length or neck (which you totally can't see but it is a rolled cowl neck). The length is okay but seems to hit at the widest part of my hips. Plus, it was pretty expensive. I didn't keep this one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EULt2CVH4lY/VFEBXpx-rfI/AAAAAAAAE7k/9-DtySNr73g/s1600/IMG_6672.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EULt2CVH4lY/VFEBXpx-rfI/AAAAAAAAE7k/9-DtySNr73g/s1600/IMG_6672.jpg" height="320" width="174" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6lmreRNIGGo/VFEBYg9j61I/AAAAAAAAE78/4Jjvy3jgSrc/s1600/IMG_6674.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6lmreRNIGGo/VFEBYg9j61I/AAAAAAAAE78/4Jjvy3jgSrc/s1600/IMG_6674.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Up next is this pink top. I asked for tops I can layer with fall sweaters. I was hoping for button ups with collars that would peek through. This shirt is fine but not awesome. I didn't keep it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PHj-CKVToDI/VFEBZQ7YLbI/AAAAAAAAE8U/CfB-uE8QNTQ/s1600/IMG_6677.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PHj-CKVToDI/VFEBZQ7YLbI/AAAAAAAAE8U/CfB-uE8QNTQ/s1600/IMG_6677.jpg" height="320" width="155" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zUtbrNkDmkU/VFEBaAP8KsI/AAAAAAAAE8w/VAjx0yIUl6c/s1600/IMG_6679.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zUtbrNkDmkU/VFEBaAP8KsI/AAAAAAAAE8w/VAjx0yIUl6c/s1600/IMG_6679.jpg" height="320" width="226" /></a></div>
Ack! These jeans. They are trouser jeans, which I normally like but they were WAY too big. I think they were a few sizes too big in the waist. I think they would have been awesome otherwise.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AFN-6VroGSs/VFEBawvC9rI/AAAAAAAAE8s/dPRIyNTegJs/s1600/IMG_6682.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AFN-6VroGSs/VFEBawvC9rI/AAAAAAAAE8s/dPRIyNTegJs/s1600/IMG_6682.jpg" height="320" width="160" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The last thing in my box was this cheetah print scarf. I think it is fine but I always feel a little funny wearing animal prints. I seem to be okay with them on belts or shoes but not soft fabrics. I'm not sure why. I changed my profile after I got this box to say I don't want animal prints. Otherwise the scarf seemed fine, but not awesome. I didn't keep it either. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sQhYMXFzL3Q/VFEBb3YDOnI/AAAAAAAAE9A/uRU03AhBI9o/s1600/IMG_6683.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sQhYMXFzL3Q/VFEBb3YDOnI/AAAAAAAAE9A/uRU03AhBI9o/s1600/IMG_6683.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So to recap, I only kept the gray faux leather jacket. It is awesome and I have looked for ways to wear it over the last few weeks. I love it when that happens!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh, and one more note. I found the jacket cheaper elsewhere a few days after I got my box. I emailed them at info@stitchfix.com and they price matched. It's nice to know they value their customers enough to price match. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you still haven't tried <a href="https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3889563">Stitch Fix </a>you should. It is a lot of fun to get a box of clothes! I haven't had a box that I didn't love at least one thing. And even when I only loved one thing it was totally worth it. </div>

Tour: Colette's Room<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SF2wt0Qrycg/VDMLNmiRHkI/AAAAAAAAE6E/CXNkVoRrkUY/s1600/IMG_6133.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SF2wt0Qrycg/VDMLNmiRHkI/AAAAAAAAE6E/CXNkVoRrkUY/s1600/IMG_6133.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our home has four bedrooms. Three of them are upstairs and one is downstairs and we use it as an office. The smallest bedroom is Colette's room. It is really small. I think it measures 8 feet by 10 feet. Although it is small it offers tons of storage and fits everything she needs. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PGTBkBJx6j4/VDMLOGg3yOI/AAAAAAAAE6M/IcH2IwAz3fw/s1600/IMG_6134.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PGTBkBJx6j4/VDMLOGg3yOI/AAAAAAAAE6M/IcH2IwAz3fw/s1600/IMG_6134.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Before we moved in the floors in Colette's bedroom and the hallway outside the bedrooms needed refinishing. It looked as if the floors had been covered by carpet when the other bedrooms got refinished. Thankfully we had a few weeks from the time we bought the house to the time we moved in. Our flooring guys were awesome and I love the way the floors look. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6mO7KOsYhuA/VDMLN69f3FI/AAAAAAAAE6I/Y7r1cCcWS8M/s1600/IMG_6135.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6mO7KOsYhuA/VDMLN69f3FI/AAAAAAAAE6I/Y7r1cCcWS8M/s1600/IMG_6135.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is a fabulous little built in storage unit. This section of her bedroom is right over the stairs and so the bottom of the cabinet is sloped upwards. It is the perfect way to hid a funny floor and add storage at the same time. The shelves were here when we moved in. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aCQQdoBlgYY/VDMLPArry3I/AAAAAAAAE6g/Ve9wzhk_l4o/s1600/IMG_6136.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aCQQdoBlgYY/VDMLPArry3I/AAAAAAAAE6g/Ve9wzhk_l4o/s1600/IMG_6136.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This amazing quilt on Colette's bed was made by her Grandma Kate. I love it. The colors and fabrics are amazing. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u2G5LV7WcRk/VDMLPLfgwJI/AAAAAAAAE6c/th7iHmaf5BQ/s1600/IMG_6137.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u2G5LV7WcRk/VDMLPLfgwJI/AAAAAAAAE6c/th7iHmaf5BQ/s1600/IMG_6137.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
This is the cutest little dresser. It is perfect for a sweet little girl. I found it on Craigslist when I was pregnant with Colette. I love the mid century lines and the white mixed with wood. I have noticed wooden influences are making their way back in to many interior design elements. I love them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
So, that's Colette's room. I love it. It holds everything she needs and has tons of storage she hasn't even utilized yet. We didn't paint or do too much decorating because I want to wait until she is older and can choose what she wants. So, I'm sure there will be many more updates to this room as she gets older. It's perfect for now though. </div>

I just got my third box from StitchFix this last week. I am so excited about this one! My second box was a little less than stellar and I somehow deleted the pictures from my phone, so we are just going to skip that one. I ended up keeping one shirt, that I will show you down below. I have read that the third fix is when they really hone in on your style and can magically get it to work. That certainly seems to be the case for me. If it wouldn't have been for a few minor details I would have kept the whole box! Here's what I got:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JgRRL4eOnJM/VB-WB4XV2AI/AAAAAAAAE3c/ErVeBTHSYbw/s1600/Fix%2B3a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JgRRL4eOnJM/VB-WB4XV2AI/AAAAAAAAE3c/ErVeBTHSYbw/s1600/Fix%2B3a.jpg" height="400" width="203" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This June Polka Dot Skirt by Pixley is totally my favorite thing from the box. I love pencil skirts and this one had a hint of stretch, making it easier to chase kids. This bag was also something I kept and love.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MbRd13pE69M/VB-WB4v2EUI/AAAAAAAAE3g/nT3W6NBJVN8/s1600/Fix%2B3b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MbRd13pE69M/VB-WB4v2EUI/AAAAAAAAE3g/nT3W6NBJVN8/s1600/Fix%2B3b.jpg" height="400" width="207" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8D86GNOOla0/VB-WB0hKJmI/AAAAAAAAE3k/1np_oB68OVY/s1600/fix%2B3c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8D86GNOOla0/VB-WB0hKJmI/AAAAAAAAE3k/1np_oB68OVY/s1600/fix%2B3c.jpg" height="400" width="218" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The top I'm wearing above is the shirt I kept from my second fix. It is from 41Hawthorn. I love that it has details like petal sleeves that hit at the elbow and pockets and button details. It is longer in the front and back and shorter on the sides. Frequently these types of tops don't work for me but for some reason this one does. And the red pants were in my third fix. They are the Duboce Strait Leg Jean by Margaret M. I love them and kept them. They look awesome with boots for the fall/winter. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2XMHCxCQ1NY/VB-WCPSwSpI/AAAAAAAAE3o/S74vMAMe-E8/s1600/fix%2B3d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2XMHCxCQ1NY/VB-WCPSwSpI/AAAAAAAAE3o/S74vMAMe-E8/s1600/fix%2B3d.jpg" height="396" width="400" /></a></div>
I totally swooned over this bag. It is the Clarita Messenger Bag by Emperia. I have the hardest time finding bags that have a zipper to close them in stead of just a magnet. Or, if I do find a zipper one they seem pretty heavy on their own. This one is just perfect. It has the perfect number of pockets and I love the messenger design. It is definitely a keep!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kxBNIvyVbYg/VB-WCeXjPQI/AAAAAAAAE4c/K7SoHH8bY9Y/s1600/fix%2B3e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kxBNIvyVbYg/VB-WCeXjPQI/AAAAAAAAE4c/K7SoHH8bY9Y/s1600/fix%2B3e.jpg" height="400" width="386" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was already put to good use and fit everything we needed for church. TOTAL WIN!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8i-1FSawOCo/VB-WCS_YevI/AAAAAAAAE3s/9JLrRShB2Yc/s1600/fix%2B3f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8i-1FSawOCo/VB-WCS_YevI/AAAAAAAAE3s/9JLrRShB2Yc/s1600/fix%2B3f.jpg" height="400" width="187" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I desperately wanted to love this dress. It has everything I asked for and should have been great but the pleating at the hips just didn't work well. Jason even liked it except for the hip pleats. The polka dots are cute and the colors are great for fall. The length is awesome. It is the Jace Dot Print Fit & Flare Dress by 41Hawthorn. I didn't keep this one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lEPvJB3WQRM/VB-WC_NdiDI/AAAAAAAAE30/tINl3Mm0eTg/s1600/fix%2B3h.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lEPvJB3WQRM/VB-WC_NdiDI/AAAAAAAAE30/tINl3Mm0eTg/s1600/fix%2B3h.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3NL6HhnvuQc/VB-WDOdtjOI/AAAAAAAAE38/2_eIzd6XjsM/s1600/fix%2B3i.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3NL6HhnvuQc/VB-WDOdtjOI/AAAAAAAAE38/2_eIzd6XjsM/s1600/fix%2B3i.jpg" height="400" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And the last thing in my box is this cute blazer by Market and Spruce. They call it the Benson 3/4 Ruched Sleeve Blazer. It fits like a glove and has the cutest striped lining. I love the length and the one button design. I don't love the outer fabric though. The color is great but the sheen on the fabric makes it seem like polyester. I really wanted to love this one too because it had so much going for it, but alas, it went back too. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XK3avMpdxJw/VB-WDYmoxlI/AAAAAAAAE4A/ry1A1_reljQ/s1600/fix%2B3j.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XK3avMpdxJw/VB-WDYmoxlI/AAAAAAAAE4A/ry1A1_reljQ/s1600/fix%2B3j.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
So for a recap, I kept three things from the box and was tempted by the other two. So, what would you have kept, if anything? And, if you've tried StitchFix, what are your thoughts? If you haven't tried it and want to, feel free to use my <a href="https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/3889563">referral code</a>, I get a kickback and I'll love you forever.<br />

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u3KKIJPPMhA/U-urhMqPGPI/AAAAAAAAE08/AntcPFBDljA/s1600/IMG_6142.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-u3KKIJPPMhA/U-urhMqPGPI/AAAAAAAAE08/AntcPFBDljA/s1600/IMG_6142.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Welcome to our new kitchen. I absolutely love the kitchen. It is the perfect size with plenty of storage but takes just a few minutes to clean up. Everything has a place and I feel like it is so well designed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f4SuuOiIc04/U-urgOLG4QI/AAAAAAAAE04/WzvNFMEDWdE/s1600/IMG_6143.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-f4SuuOiIc04/U-urgOLG4QI/AAAAAAAAE04/WzvNFMEDWdE/s1600/IMG_6143.jpg" height="400" width="335" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When we first looked at the house I was worried the kitchen would be too small. It is compact, but I actually use that to my advantage. It is far easier to clean a small kitchen than a big one. And, I've never been someone who needs a whole gaggle of kitchen tools. I have what I need and somehow we get by without the rest.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MUyDHuruPgk/U-urhdu1CAI/AAAAAAAAE1A/wNmGNAI-9QM/s1600/IMG_6144.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MUyDHuruPgk/U-urhdu1CAI/AAAAAAAAE1A/wNmGNAI-9QM/s1600/IMG_6144.jpg" height="400" width="273" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We bought the fridge after spending hours looking at options. We measured and measured again just to make sure it would fit. I feel like it is totally us. We love clean lines and I especially love shiny things. The bottom freezer is beautiful and the interior has ample shelves. The only down side for some people is the lack of ice maker or water dispenser. Honestly, I don't like to waste the room inside the freezer for those things, so I'm glad to go without. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--UhgMJttUno/U-urlovhppI/AAAAAAAAE1Y/dA6FV1O2h68/s1600/IMG_6146.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--UhgMJttUno/U-urlovhppI/AAAAAAAAE1Y/dA6FV1O2h68/s1600/IMG_6146.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TNQhjgJMfq4/U-urk9jqlFI/AAAAAAAAE1Q/1fN-9LxzZEg/s1600/IMG_6147.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TNQhjgJMfq4/U-urk9jqlFI/AAAAAAAAE1Q/1fN-9LxzZEg/s1600/IMG_6147.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
The passthrough between the dining room and kitchen is perfect for breakfast. The kids love eating at the barstools and I don't blame them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gwP8DoprkW4/U-urlOG3Y5I/AAAAAAAAE1U/6ZU3yRkUfRU/s1600/IMG_6148.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gwP8DoprkW4/U-urlOG3Y5I/AAAAAAAAE1U/6ZU3yRkUfRU/s1600/IMG_6148.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MUFiChgirtE/U-urnZvd_-I/AAAAAAAAE1o/DtM8KXF6xoU/s1600/IMG_6150.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MUFiChgirtE/U-urnZvd_-I/AAAAAAAAE1o/DtM8KXF6xoU/s1600/IMG_6150.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really like storing our bowls out in the open. It saves a lot of cabinet space and I never really know what to store on these display shelves since I"m not a collector of random things. Everything we have serves a purpose or it holds deep sentimental value. An item gets extra points if it is functional, beautiful and holds sentimental value. </div>
